Random facts about me - Blogger Q & A

Thanks so much to Hayley at Winging it with two boys for tagging me in this Blogger Q & A.

I loved reading Hayley's and finding out some random facts about her, so I was so excited to be tagged to do my own.

Hopefully you will enjoy reading and finding about about me too!

Spring Recipe: Pansy shortbread biscuits

Look at these pretty little biscuits!

Perfect for a vintage tea party or afternoon tea.

I seriously love flowers. I always have a bunch in a vase in my lounge & dining room, and I look after my garden, keeping it in full bloom with different seasonal plants all year round, and now I'm taking my love of flowers that little bit further - by eating them!

I currently have loads of winter pansies blooming in the garden, so thought I take advantage and pretty up some shortbread biscuits with them.

They are edible - but make sure they are nice and organic & have no nasty pesticides and such like on them!

How to: Custom design & personalise your own leather jacket with posca pens the cheats way!

Having seen custom jackets recently, I just new I wanted to give it a whirl myself.

LL had an old pleather jacket lying around that she hadn't really worn much and was soon to be outgrown so I thought - what the hell have I got to lose here?

Turns out, it is SUPER SIMPLE.

I mean, like, really really easy. Anyone can do it.

Yes! Even you!

#SmearForSmear 2018

As the www.jostrust.org.uk #SmearforSmear 2018 campaign has just drawn to a close, I thought I'd re-post an old post from a few years ago about my first smear experience.

Yes, that's right. Only a few years ago, aged 30!

Hopefully by people sharing their own stories, by showing that being scared is totally normal, by letting people know that in reality it really isn't that scary, we can encourage others to go for that all important overdue smear.

"We want every woman to know that smear tests can prevent cervical cancer. Help us reach as many women as possible with a message about the importance of smear tests. Your post might be the reminder or encouragement someone needs to go for their smear test, it could save a life." Jo's Trust

My Story, 2015

Just go for your Smear.

Easy right? Just go?

Or maybe not....

The current guidelines in England are that every women is invited to have a smear test at 25.

I was no different.

The letter landed on my doorstep shortly after my 25th Birthday.

And what did I do?

Book the appointment?

Nope. Of course not.

18 things for 2018

HOW are we in 2018 already?

Seriously, it baffles me how fast the years go the older you get.

You may remember my New Year New Me post from last year?

(And yes, I was baffled by the fact it was 2017 already on that post too. It feels like I only wrote it yesterday.)

Back then I decided to keep it short and manageable, setting myself just 5 realistic but worthy goals for the year and I'm happy to say, I managed to keep up most of them really quite easily (I could have stressed a little less if I'd have tried that bit harder!)

This year, thanks to Leslie at www.messyblog.uk who has tagged me in her 18 things for 2018 post, I am once again sat here trying to put together a list of things I hope to achieve/ improve/ cut out for the next year and beyond.

The ultimate Christmas gift guide for all the family

I have been very busy here at Dancing dandelions HQ sourcing some of the best products on the market and believe I have managed to find something for everyone here.

I know only too well how stressful it can be trying to find the perfect gift for your loved ones, so hopefully this will help give you some inspiration!

Recipe: Gingerbread cupcakes topped with cinnamon & toffee frosting

My children are currently LOVING gingerbread. My 6 year old made some gingerbread men (recipe here) to take to school and they are addicted to the new McVities mini gingerbread (seen here on the cakes) so I thought, as my main love is cupcakes I'd combine the two.

And, well, we're SO close to Christmas now (Eeek!) and gingerbread just IS Christmas.

There's seriously no better smell than ginger and cinnamon wafting through the house on a cold December day.

What's the worst Christmas gift you have ever received? Is it as bad as these bloggers received?

As I am currently compiling my Christmas gift guide which features some absolutely cracking gifts for the loved ones in your life, it got me thinking about the bad ones I have received over the years too....

And there have been a few!

I'm not sure who of my family & friends read my blog and I'm too much of a wuss to reveal all just in case, because one thing I can say is that although I have received some really terrible gifts over the years, I do believe they have been given with love by people who truly thought they had found something perfect for me.

I really wouldn't want to upset people...however, if you have gifted me something ever, be aware, it could be you ;-)

(perhaps check out my gift guide coming up this week to discover what I really would like to receive this Christmas)

So instead, I have asked my fellow blogging friends to spill the beans on their own disastrous, naff, unthoughtful or downright bizarre gifts!!!

Christmas bucket list [Printable pdf included]

My printable resources have proved to be extremely popular especially my summer and autumn bucket lists and so I thought I would share my Christmas bucket list with you all today!

These are things I like to do for our own family each season to help gather ideas of what we all might like to do and as a way of ensuring that we actually do things.
